Located at 151 North Delaware Street, Market Square Center—as it’s officially called—is one of the shiniest buildings in Indiana’s capital city. The boxy modernist structure was designed by local firm Wright, Porteous & Lowe in the mid-1970s and features a reflective gold exterior wrapped around 420,500-square-feet of office space. Over the last several years, the Gold Building and its neighbor at 251 East Ohio Street, Two Market Square Center, have passed on ownership, most recently landing in the laps of Gershman Partners, Citimark, Inc., and Milhaus, promising to revive and modernize this iconic gem.

Fast-Forward to 2023, powerhouse developers, Gershman Partners, Citimark, Inc., and Milhaus takes stride in revamping the iconic Gold Building and move forward with a heavy focus on bringing more apartments to the city’s central business district.

Strategic planning is underway to convert the Class-B office building into 350 multi-family units with 530 parking spaces and +/-22,000 SF curated retail space at the ground level with the revived & rejuvenated Wabash Alley, adjacent to Indianapolis City Market.
